Greven J Custom Classical Crossover Cedar Rosewood 1994

Greven Custom Jazz model from 1994. This unique instrument was designed for a jazz musician desiring the feel of an archtop but the sound of a classical guitar. The single round cutaway rosewood body features a modified Torres type top bracing, tap tuned for maximum responsiveness. As is true of all Greven classical models this one has all wood bindings and an unbound ebony fingerboard. Take note that the neck on this J is 1 7/8" wide rather than the traditional 2 1/8" and is shaped more like a steel string neck. the extra long scale of 26" allows for greater string tension and a concert hall size sound. These instruments are characterized by a big, clear, round sound with great volume without sacrificing tonal purity. Gold plated, hand engraved tuning machines with genuine mother-of-pearl buttons set off the headstock. The 12-fret-to-the-body neck is standard with these instruments, and the LR Baggs classical pickup makes sure the tonal character is translated perfectly when amplified.
