Jellinghaus Alemana 1A EF Doble Tapa

In 1989, Matthias Dammann build the first so-called double top guitar, by using two tops and putting honeycomb Nomex material in the middle.

The reduction in weight lead to a big increase in volume. But even though there is less than 2mm of real wood left, the axial and tangential stiffness  of the wood ensure that the tone remains sweet.

Mr. Jellinghaus calls Dammann's innovative idea the biggest milestone in German guitar building and honors him with this Alemana that is part of the suiting Milestones series.

The Alemana has changed a couple of times since its inception. This specimen features Pau Ferro for the back and sides and is paired with a double top made of Red Cedar and Spruce. This doble top construction gives the Alemana an incredible response, dynamics and volume. The body is dressed in a light and tender french polish finish that makes sure the instrument is able to breath and sound like it's supposed to.
