Juan Estruch 1a Concert classical CD-IRW 1979

This guitar was built by Juan Estruch Pipó, a third generation Estruch following his father Juan Estruch Sastre and grandfather Juan Estruch Rosell. Juan Estruch Rosell started building guitars in 1880 which means that Estruch is the oldest brand still building instruments in Catalonië and one of the oldest in Spain. These days Estruch is a renowned brand with a fantastic collection of instruments and member of "El Gremio de Maestros Artesanos de la Guitarra Española". Their handbuilt instruments are built to the highest standards with the best materials and by supremely skilled luthiers. Chet Atkins can be seen on the cover of his album "Guitar Country" with a Juan Estruch guitar in which Chet installed a Prismatone pickup under the bridge.

This 1a model from 1979 features a solid Canadian Cedar top in combination with solid Indian Rosewood back and sides. The three-piece neck was constructed using Honduras mahogany on which an ebony fretboard was fitted. Beneath the saddle on the rosewood bridge a piëzo pickup of unknown original has been fitted which works perfect in combination with a preamp. Condition is Very Good; it's extremely clean for its age with some light angelhair playwear, several small dings in the finish of both the body and neck. Includes period correct hardshell case.
