Martin Custom Shop D45 12-String

This very special and very rare Martin took a long time to arrive. This 12-string, 14-fret Martin D45 is based on the rare and collectible Martin D12-45s from the early 1970s. According to Mike Longworth's book, Martin Guitars: A History, only 83 D12-45 guitars were ever made between 1969 and 1987. Nowadays they are no longer in production, unless ordered through Martin's custom shop - and only if you are willing - like us - to wait two years. This Iconic 12-string Dreadnought sounds as powerful and magical as you'd expect from Martin's 'King of flattops', the Indian rosewood back and sides provide dark and deep articulation of every note you play, while grade 8 (Martins mastergrade) Sitka Spruce top guarantees pleasant clarity. The width of the nut and the distance between the strings at the bridge are just about right, not too narrow and not too wide, and it features a non-slotted headstock. The 45 style inlays around the top, the fingerboard extensions, sides and back, and the abalone hexagonal inlays and purfling are truly iconic for this unique guitar and the the selected custom shop stock Indian rosewood is of the exceptional beautty you hope it to be..
