Alejandro Flamenco Blanca 1980

This Flamenco Blanca was built by Alex van der Horst, who built guitars under the name Alejandro in his workshop in Torremolinos, Malaga, Spain. Van der Horst was born in Amsterdam in 1959 and moved to Spain at the age of 17, where he sadly passed away at a far too young age in 2009.

Alejandro guitars are characterized by their lightweight construction, good response, and smooth playability. This Flamenco Blanca is no exception; with its thin Cypress body and light curved fan bracing beneath the Cedar top, this guitar fits that profile perfectly.

And that it is a good guitar is immediately apparent, as the playing marks on the top reveal many years of intensive use. In addition to these signs of wear, the guitar has two repaired cracks on the back, parallel to the backstrip. The frets have ample height, and the guitar plays smoothly!
