Atkin J43 Baked Sitka Mahogany Aged Sunburst 2023

The Atkin Forty Three Sunburst is a rare example of a J45 style guitar that truly captures the essence of a vintage instrument. With its authentic appointments, aged appearance and rich tonal character, this guitar delivers the look, feel and sound of a well played original.

Created to celebrate Atkin’s 25th anniversary, the Forty Three draws inspiration from slope shoulder guitars that are now nearly 80 years old. At the same time, it highlights the unique construction methods and voicing that define the unmistakable Atkin sound, a legacy the brand can proudly stand behind.

Finished in a beautifully aged dark sunburst with weatherchecked lacquer, this guitar features a mahogany neck paired with a rosewood fingerboard and bridge. It offers all the character of a vintage instrument while maintaining the playability of a modern build. The slope shoulder body, combined with a Baked Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides, produces warm mids, solid lows and excellent definition.

Supplied in a TKL hardshell case with certificate of authenticity, this Forty Three is a stunning tribute to vintage tone and craftsmanship.

This 2023 example has been professionally serviced by our luthiers. A loose X brace was reglued and a small crack on the top next to the pickguard was carefully repaired. The crack did not go all the way through the top, and the repair has made the guitar structurally more stable than ever.
