An AS17 Archtop made in 1993 by the legendary Rudolph Blazer, also known from the collaboration with Willy Henkes under the name Blazer & Henkes.
Rudolph Blazer began his career as a guitar builder in 1971 at a large guitar maker in Germany. After years of repair work, he started his own workshop in Stuttgart. In 1980, he moved to Tübingen to start building traditional steel string guitars. This AS17 Archtop was ordered by the first owner in 1992, and was delivered by Blazer in 1993.
With its fully hollow construction and mini humbucker in the neck position, this Blazer is a guitar that lends itself perfectly to jazz. The guitar has a carved spruce top and a beautifully flamed maple back and sides. The neck is also made of flamed maple, and is accompanied by an ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl inlays. The guitar also has a cream binding all around, on the body, neck and pickguard. This ebony pickguard is also equipped with the volume control of the mini humbucker.
This Blazer AS17 has some small dings and light playwear, and the lacquer has light weather checking that is mainly visible on the top. However, these traces do not detract from the excellent condition of this now vintage guitar, because the guitar is exceptionally clean. Comes with TFOA passport in a hardshell case.
