Bourgeois naturally already has a successful partnership with Eastman in the form of the Touchstone series, but is taking it a step further with the new Down East Series. The guitars in this series are built entirely to Bourgeois specifications in China, with the team from Lewiston overseeing the entire process. This allows Bourgeois to offer its characteristic balance, dynamic range, and responsiveness to more guitarists than ever before, because the prices of these guitars are exceptionally competitive!

Ergonomic yet surprisingly robust, the 00, with its short scale length and 14 frets, delivers a focused, intimate sound—versatile enough for fingerstyle or strumming—and a great partner for songwriting or simply improvising.

Mahogany is an ideal wood for the 00 body. Although traditionally considered a "budget wood," its warm tone and full mid-frequency response complement smaller guitars perfectly. And while mahogany tops can sometimes sound drier or flatter than their spruce counterparts, a "hogtop" crafted using Bourgeois' unique tone method consistently produces a full palette of resonant frequencies, with singing, sustained highs, a rich mid-frequency, and a balanced bass.
