This model translates the atmosphere and look of Bryan’s personal Bourgeois guitars into an exclusive series of only 100 instruments worldwide. With its sunburst finish, antler inlays, and classic slope dreadnought body, this guitar exudes Americana, but beneath the surface lies an extremely finely crafted instrument.

The combination of an Aged Tone Sitka spruce top with walnut back and sides creates a powerful yet controlled sound. The torrefied top delivers a fast response and an open, broken-in character, while walnut adds warmth, focus, and a slightly smoky undertone. Bourgeois’ hand-voiced tap tuning process plays a major role in this; every head is individually tuned in the workshop in Maine for optimal resonance, balance, and dynamics. The result is a guitar with great projection, a strong midrange, and a direct attack that works excellently for singer-songwriter work, heavy strumming, and fingerpicking.

In terms of finish, too, this Touchstone Edition clearly demonstrates what Bourgeois is known for. The Honduran mahogany neck is combined with a ziricote fingerboard featuring striking antler inlays, while the ebony headstock overlay with “LB” inlays subtly underscores the signature character. Schaller Grand Tune tuners, ivoroid details, and the high-gloss finish complete the package. The Touchstone series forms an interesting bridge between traditional American boutique craftsmanship and modern production techniques, with the hand-voiced tops still being finished in Maine to preserve the recognizable Bourgeois character.
