Deering Deluxe 12 String Banjo 1992

Often referred to as the "grand piano of banjos," the Deering Deluxe 12 is designed for the guitarist seeking a magnificent banjo tone. With just a light touch of your flatpick or fingerpicks, you unlock a whole new, brilliant musical world!

If you play a 12-string guitar, you will be amazed by the overwhelming sound produced when playing the 12-string banjo in that same style! We couldn't have imagined the sound until we built and listened to the first one. The instrument is capable of powerful volume and strong presence, yet it can simultaneously produce subtle, delicate music. It is tuned like a 12-string guitar; you use the same chords and fingerings, yet create a completely new, spectacular sound.

This Deering was built in August 1992 and is the 1,496th unit of this model produced. Over the years, the banjo has acquired relatively light signs of play, especially considering its respectable age of 34 years. While there are some signs of use and patina on the resonator, hardware, and headstock, the banjo otherwise looks very clean. An instrument you won't come across very often!

This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
