With the Pre-War SJ-200 Rosewood Reissue, Epiphone offers a unique interpretation of Gibson’s most iconic jumbo. Through collaboration with Gibson Custom, an authentic recreation of this vintage legend has been created, making the warm, full sound of the legendary pre-war SJ-200 accessible to a wider group of guitarists!

Introduced in 1937 as Gibson’s flagship acoustic guitar, the SJ-200 became known as “The King of the Flat-tops.”Originally developed for country legend Ray Whitley, the model was soon embraced by artists such as Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, and The Beatles. This Epiphone reissue honors the pre-war specifications of the original design, including the distinctive moustache bridge and the striking graduated crown inlays that give the guitar its regal appearance.

The combination of a rosewood body with a thermally aged spruce top results in a rich, balanced tone with the deep fundamentals the SJ-200 is famous for. The Round D neck profile offers comfortable playability for both chord work and fingerstyle, while the scalloped X-bracing allows the top to resonate optimally.
