Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Les Paul Custom Amethyst Sparkle

As part of the ongoing collaboration with Gibson Custom, Epiphone is proud to introduce a new flagship Les Paul Custom to the Inspired by Gibson Custom Collection. The Les Paul Custom was originally developed at the request of Les Paul himself, who in 1954 wanted a more luxurious version of his signature model with cosmetics that "look like a tuxedo." The first finish offered was Black, followed by White, with additional color options introduced over time. The body woods also evolved through the years. Early 1950s models featured all-mahogany bodies, producing a more mid-focused voice, while later versions paired a mahogany body with a maple cap, just like the Les Paul Standard, resulting in a more balanced tone with greater brightness, snap, and attack. Hallmark features such as the block inlays, split diamond headstock inlay, and extensive multi-ply binding have remained defining characteristics throughout its history.

The Inspired by Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom continues this tradition of elegance. It features a solid mahogany body with a maple cap for outstanding tonal balance. Multi-ply binding on both the top and back enhances its refined appearance. The one-piece mahogany neck features a Modern Medium C profile and is joined to the body with a long neck tenon for improved resonance, stability, and sustain. The bound ebony fingerboard, a defining feature of the Les Paul Custom since its introduction, is fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets and mother-of-pearl block inlays. The five-ply bound Gibson-style open-book headstock is equipped with Grover Rotomatic tuners, a Graph Tech nut, and is adorned with the Epiphone logo and the iconic Custom split diamond inlay, both crafted from mother of pearl. At the other end, the strings pass over a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and anchor to a LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece for excellent intonation and sustain.

The hand-wired electronics feature premium components, including USA-made Gibson 490R and 498T humbuckers, CTS volume and tone controls for each pickup, Mallory tone capacitors, and a Switchcraft 3-way pickup selector switch with a Switchcraft 1/4-inch output jack. The Inspired by Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom comes in a black hardshell case with an Inspired by Gibson Custom logo on the exterior and a plush goldenrod interior to keep the instrument safe during transport.
