Fender Aerodyne Stratocaster MIJ Black 2005

The Fender Aerodyne Stratocaster is one of the coolest and most distinctive guitars to come out of Fender Japan. This 2005 example in gloss black has the model's signature bound body and sleek, understated styling, giving it a sharp, modern take on the classic Strat.

Made in Japan and built to Fender's typically high standard, the Aerodyne pairs a lightweight basswood body with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. The vintage 7.25" fingerboard radius and comfortable C profile give it a familiar, easy playing feel, and at just 3.2 kg it is a real pleasure to wear.

This one has been modified with a set of replacement pickups, including a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge. That turns it into an HSS-style setup, combining single coil chime in the neck and middle positions with a hotter, fatter humbucking bridge tone that is perfect for rock and higher gain playing.

As you would expect from a guitar that has seen some playing, it shows a bit of honest wear. There is a noticeable crack at the armrest contour, where the finish and binding have cracked, along with some further dings on the top and a scratch on the back. None of it affects the way the guitar plays, and it comes in a gigbag.
