With the American Professional Classic Precision Bass, Fender brings back the soul of the 1960s, evolved for the modern bassist!
The Precision Bass was introduced in late 1951 and was not only Fender’s first bass guitar, but also the world’s first bass guitar, a completely new kind of instrument. With its solid body and fretted neck, the Precision Bass revolutionized the world of music. The split-coil pickup introduced in 1957 defined the P-Bass sound that has since become the global standard for bass tone. The American Professional Classic series honors this legacy with carefully selected vintage details and modern enhancements.
This Precision Bass combines the best of both worlds. The alder body provides the familiar resonance and tone, while the Coastline '60 split-coil pickup delivers that characteristic warm, full P-Bass sound with excellent definition. The Greasebucket tone system allows you to adjust brightness without losing body or depth.
The Modern "C" neck profile with a 9.5" radius fingerboard and Medium Jumbo frets offers comfortable playability across the entire neck, while the vintage-style hardware with Fender “lollipop” tuners provides both classic looks and reliable tuning stability. The bass comes in a gigbag.
