The Jazz Bass was introduced by Fender in 1960 as the Deluxe Bass, and this was reflected in features borrowed from the Jazzmaster. The bass was eventually renamed Jazz Bass because Fender believed the narrow neck would appeal primarily to jazz musicians.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis Jazz Bass features a gloss lacquer finished ash offset body with a black pickguard, as has been the standard for the Jazz Bass since 1974. Furthermore, we see a maple neck fitted with a maple fingerboard featuring mother-of-pearl block inlays and white binding.
