Fender Precision Bass Sunburst 1975

At The Fellowship of Acoustics, we frequently encounter superb Fender Custom Shop reissues, but this 1975 Precision Bass is the real deal. The Fender Precision Bass is one of the most popular bass guitars in history, and this particular instrument lets you hear and feel exactly why!

Fender introduced the Precision Bass in 1951; its thick tone and indestructible build completely transformed the music world. Despite having only a single pickup, the bass is remarkably versatile—a fact proven by its presence in virtually every musical setting imaginable.

The ash body is finished in one of Fender’s most iconic color schemes: 3-Color Sunburst. A black pickguard completes the look, while the maple neck remains incredibly smooth to play. Weighing in at just 3.9 kilograms, this bass is exceptionally light, making it a breeze to play even the most creative basslines on stage or in the studio!

It is clear that this vintage Fender Precision Bass has seen plenty of action over the past 50-plus years, yet it is equally evident that it has been well cared for. There is some light buckle rash on the back of the body, and a few small dings along the edges of the headstock. Aside from these expected signs of use, the bass is remarkably clean for its age.

The Fender pickup bears a 1976 date stamp, accompanied by the original pair of CTS potentiometers, which date back to the 36th week of 1975. The bass retains its original Fender tuners and bridge. The bridge once held a chrome cover, and the mounting screw holes remain visible. A magnificent vintage bass!
