G&L Skyhawk Faded White 1984

This 1984 G&L Skyhawk is a vintage instrument from the company Leo Fender founded after leaving the brand that carries his name. Finished in faded white over an ash body, it pairs classic three single coil tones with the refinements Leo kept adding throughout his career.

G&L was founded in Fullerton, California, by Leo Fender and George Fullerton, his longtime friend and colleague. The name simply stands for George and Leo. Having already designed the Telecaster, the Stratocaster and the Precision Bass, Leo saw G&L as the place to perfect his ideas. He kept working there until his death in 1991 and regarded the instruments he built at G&L as the best he ever made.

The ash body gives the Skyhawk a bright, open voice with plenty of snap. The maple neck and fingerboard add clarity and definition, while the three single coils cover everything from glassy cleans to biting rhythm tones. Thanks to the vintage 7.25" radius and the slim C profile, the neck feels comfortable and familiar in the hand. The G&L tremolo with six saddles lets you add vibrato to your playing.

This 1984 Skyhawk is in excellent condition. Considering its age, it still looks remarkably clean. It shows the dings and scratches that come with its years, along with some buckle wear on the back. It comes with a hardshell case and a TFOA Passport.
