The allure and legend of the Gibson J35 live on in the new 1936 J35 with Murphy Lab Light Aging. You can't get any closer to a genuine 1930s J35!
The J35 was created in 1936 as an evolution of the Jumbo, a time when the Great Depression was still wreaking havoc on Americans. Gibson developed the J35 as a stripped-down version, while still offering musicians a warm and balanced instrument. This 1936 J35 has the look, feel, and sound of a seasoned vintage J35, and thanks to Murphy Lab's Light Aging, it looks the part!
The Murphy Lab Light Aged finish, combined with lightly aged hardware, simulates decades of light wear, giving it the unique character, vibe, and feel of an original from the Gibson Golden Era. However you play this flattop, it sounds rich and deep, and is equally suited to strumming simple chords as it is for extended leads.
The Master Luthiers in Bozeman, Montana, have created a beautiful, vintage-inspired instrument sure to please even the most discerning flattop guitarists. The J35 1936 features a thermally aged Adirondack spruce top, bonded with hot hide glue, a wide 1.77" nut, an open lock bridge, a bone nut, and tuners with cream-colored buttons.
The guitar comes in a hardshell case with a Murphy Lab certificate.
