Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Dirty Lemon VOS 2020

The Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue is widely regarded as the holy grail of the electric guitar world, and this Dirty Lemon example is a stunning recreation of that legendary 1959 specification. Built in Gibson's Custom Shop, it captures the look, feel and voice of a genuine Burst.

Every detail is drawn from the originals. The body is made from a single piece of lightweight mahogany, topped with a beautifully figured maple cap finished in a warm Dirty Lemon burst. The VOS treatment gives the nitrocellulose finish a lightly aged, played-in look without any heavy wear. A mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays and Royalite binding completes the historically accurate package, along with Kluson Deluxe tuners, an ABR-1 bridge and a lightweight aluminium stop bar.

At the heart of the guitar sit two Custombucker pickups with Alnico III magnets, left unpotted just like the PAFs of the era. These deliver the rich, dynamic and beautifully open tone that made the original Bursts so revered, from warm, vocal neck sounds to a punchy, harmonically rich bridge voice. Combined with the resonant lightweight body, this is a Les Paul that truly comes alive.

This 2020 example is in excellent condition and presents clean overall. It shows some light scratches and dents scattered across the body and neck, along with a very small lacquer chip next to the back plate. There is also some lacquer bleed along all of the bindings. It comes supplied in a hardshell case with its pickguard, a Certificate of Authenticity, hangtags and a TFOA Passport.

This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
