His dramatic, melodic and aggressive playing became inseparable from albums such as The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars and Aladdin Sane. Ronson’s heavily modified 1968 Les Paul Custom, famously stripped of its original Ebony finish, became a visual and sonic statement that remains instantly recognizable.

This Collector’s Edition captures every nuance of that original guitar. It features a mahogany body with a plain maple cap and a mahogany neck carved to an Authentic 68 Medium C profile. The ebony fretboard is fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets and mother of pearl block inlays. Aged gold hardware includes Grover tuners, an ABR 1 bridge and a heavily worn Stop Bar tailpiece. Even the mismatched volume and tone knobs have been replicated to mirror Ronson’s own instrument.

The unpotted and aged 68 Custom humbuckers with Alnico 2 magnets deliver the raw, open and aggressive voice that defined Ronson’s tone. Hand wired CTS 500k audio taper potentiometers and Black Beauty capacitors ensure vintage correct response and clarity.
