With this 2004 Gibson ES-137 in Triburst, you're getting a semi-hollow guitar that feels just as comfortable delivering smooth jazz chords as it does ripping through a powerful rock solo. Within Gibson's semi-hollow lineup, the ES-137 occupies its own unique position alongside better-known models such as the ES-335. While the latter features a double-cutaway design, Gibson opted for a single-cutaway body on the ES-137.This gives the guitar a comfortable feel when seated, and players appreciate the model for combining classic Gibson styling with excellent ergonomics and playability. This ES-137 is fitted with two humbuckers that offer a noticeable difference in output. The bridge pickup is overwound, delivering a powerful, cutting tone with plenty of bite, while the neck pickup is wound to a lower output for a warmer, rounder sound. The contrast between the two makes for a versatile instrument with a wide range of usable tones. As you would expect from a guitar that has been played, this 2004 Gibson shows clear signs of use, including various scratches and small dings throughout the instrument. In several places the binding has shrunk slightly, causing some finish deterioration, most notably around the neck binding. A particularly attractive detail is that the lacquer is beginning to develop subtle checking, adding to the guitar's vintage character. Comes complete with its case. This instrument has been carefully inspected for originality, condition and playability, and has been professionally set up by our luthier according to our Gold Standard setup. We make sure it arrives at your door exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly, and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
