The Gibson ES225T is a notable model from the brand's catalog for its single P90 in the center position. The guitar was produced from 1955 to 1959; the guitar fell between the cheaper ES125 and the new ES330 towards the end of its life and was discontinued.
Due to the central placement of the P90 element, the ES225T has a unique sound. The soft V-neck gives the guitar a comfortable playability, while the laminated maple back and sides produce a bright tone. The addition 'T' after the type number makes the guitar recognizable as a thinline model, and therefore has a thinner body than the regular Hollowbody models from Gibson.
Dating vintage Gibsons can sometimes cause us some headaches, but luckily this ES225T has a FON number that starts with a V. This tells us that the guitar was built in 1956, and the guitar has gathered quite a bit of character in its almost 70-year musical journey. A later reversed Stinger is immediately noticeable on the back of the neck joint.
The repaired cracks in the body also reveal that the neck joint has undergone a repair at some point, and it should be noted that the guitar is stable and excellently playable. Furthermore, the guitar is no longer completely original; the guitar is equipped with a separate bridge with trapeze tailpiece and the tuners and pickguard have been replaced.
All in all, this ES225T N is a pure vintage player with charm and style that cannot be imitated in a laboratory! The guitar comes with TFOA passport in a hardshell case.
