Gibson Les Paul Custom Alpine White Refin 1976

This 1976 Gibson Les Paul Custom in Alpine White is a guitar that immediately shows what Gibson is known for: impeccable workmanship, powerful sound and timeless elegance.

With its Alpine White finish, ebony fingerboard with pearloid block inlays, and classic Custom details like multi-line purfling, this Les Paul exudes pure class, while the dual humbuckers provide that signature Gibson tone that has inspired generations of guitarists.

The Les Paul Custom was introduced in 1954 as Gibson’s premium electric guitar. It differed from the Standard in that it had a more luxurious finish, an ebony fingerboard instead of rosewood, and the signature block inlays. This 1976 Les Paul Custom showcases all the qualities that make it so beloved. The mahogany body with maple top provides that classic Les Paul warmth and sustain, while the ebony fingerboard with its 10" radius and C-profile neck provides excellent playability.

This Les Paul has been refinished in Alpine White, and the lacquer chip on the side of the headstock suggests that the guitar was originally Wine Red. The guitar features its original hardware such as the bridge and tailpiece, while on the back of the headstock we find the signature Schaller tuners with Gibson print. The bridge pickup is an original Patent No. humbucker, but the neck pickup has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan '59. The four potentiometers are all from the fourth week of 1976.
