Gibson Les Paul Futura 120th Anniversary 2014

When Gibson celebrated 120 years since Orville Gibson built his first guitar, they released this 120th anniversary Futura model. After 120 years it's fair to say that Gibson knows a thing or two about guitar-making.

This model is typical of the Gibson 2014 approach: there are coil-splittable pickups and it packs an uncommon p-90 and humbucker combination with switchable 15db boost. The LP's Sidewinder P-90H is great for chimey, crunchy chords. In combination with the coil-split it produces snappy sounds.

The LP Futura is at its best when it's firing on all cylinders on the bridge humbucker - the tones are brash, obnoxious and in your face. The boost switch gives all settings an extra punch. Making this Futura a ballzy Les Paul.

The Brilliant Red finish has some notable wear and tear on the top and bottom of the body but is otherwise in great condition. This 120 anniversary model from 2014 is a real player.
