The Rosanne Cash J185 is designed to offer the rich, seasoned sound of a vintage instrument, thanks to the thermally aged Sitka spruce top. The flamed maple body not only makes it visually more appealing but also contributes to a balanced tone by adding clarity and a punchy attack that complements the deep lows of the Jumbo body. To improve playability, this J185 features a slightly thinner body, making it more comfortable to hold.

The Gibson Custom Shop Rosanne Cash J185 is a testament to this need, designed in collaboration with Rosanne herself. This limited-edition guitar, with only 100 models made by Gibson's expert guitar builders in Bozeman, Montana, features a beautiful flame maple body, a thermally aged Sitka spruce top, and a SlimTaper 24.75-inch mahogany neck for exceptional playability. A striking feature of the Rosanne Cash J185 is the custom-designed pickguard, created by Rosanne Cash and her husband John Leventhal, and inspired by her father's iconic J200. Rosanne Cash's name is also inlaid in mother-of-pearl on the pickguard. Equipped with an L.R. Baggs VTC electronics system, including an under-saddle transducer, built-in preamp, and control knobs in the soundhole, this guitar is ready for any stage or studio straight out of the custom Rosanne Cash hardshell case.

As a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the first female composer to receive the prestigious Edward MacDowell Medal, her influence extends far beyond music. This 2024 Gibson is barely distinguishable from a new guitar. On the top, behind the bridge and on the bass side, there are two small dents, and there is also a tiny dent on the back of the body. Otherwise, the guitar is very clean and is a beautiful addition to any guitar collection!

This instrument has been carefully inspected for originality, condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
