The Gibson SJ 200 60s Original continues the legacy of Gibson’s legendary King of the Flat Tops. First introduced in 1937, the SJ 200 set a standard that few acoustic guitars have ever matched. This 60s Original model recreates the SJ 200 as it appeared during the 1960s, a golden era in which it could be found in the hands of artists such as Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Pete Townshend and Jimmy Page!

This iconic jumbo features a solid AAA Sitka spruce top paired with maple back and sides, including the characteristic two piece maple back with a center strip. Finished in a distinctive 60s style nitrocellulose lacquer, the SJ 200 delivers the powerful projection, rich low end and shimmering highs that made it a staple on countless legendary recordings.

The two piece maple neck features a walnut stringer and a comfortable Round profile, along with a narrower nut width that makes first position chords especially easy to play. The rosewood fingerboard is fitted with 20 frets and adorned with classic mother of pearl graduated crown inlays, one of the most recognizable visual hallmarks of the SJ 200.

Visually unmistakable details include the iconic no border SJ 200 pickguard and the solid rosewood Moustache bridge, decorated with mother of pearl hourglass and teardrop inlays. In place of a Tune O Matic bridge, this 60s Original features a traditional bone saddle, appealing to the preferences of many modern players.

The guitar is equipped with gold Grover Rotomatic tuners for reliable tuning stability, a bone nut and TUSQ bridge pins. It is stage and studio ready thanks to the internal L R Baggs VTC undersaddle pickup and preamp system, with discreet volume and tone controls mounted in the soundhole. The SJ 200 60s Original is delivered in a Gibson hardshell case.
