Godin Glissentar 2007 #07264657

The Godin Glissentar is one of the most unique instruments you will come across, an 11 string fretless acoustic electric inspired by the Middle Eastern oud but built with the feel of a modern nylon string guitar. This 2007 example in Natural is a wonderfully expressive and exotic sounding instrument.

Made in Canada by Godin, the Glissentar carries eleven strings arranged as five doubled courses and a single low string, strung over a completely fretless Richlite fingerboard. This lets you slide seamlessly between notes and explore the microtonal, vocal phrasing of oud and world music, while the familiar 25.5" scale and nylon strings keep it approachable for any guitarist. A two chambered silver leaf maple body with a solid cedar top gives it a warm, resonant and open acoustic voice.

A custom under saddle transducer lets you plug straight in and amplify that rich, complex tone on stage or in the studio, with a natural and detailed response. The wide 48.7mm nut and classical neck profile give the strings plenty of room, and at just 3.4 kg it is light and comfortable to play for hours.

It is in near mint condition, with just a small ding on the top of the headstock, and it even still has the plastic protection on the back covers. It comes with its Godin gigbag and a TFOA Passport.

This instrument has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
