This Huss & Dalton CM from 2003 brings together a solid spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides in a comfortable OM-sized body with cutaway. Finished in natural gloss and in excellent condition, it delivers the kind of balanced, articulate voice that fingerstyle and flatpicking players both fall for. And with an LR Baggs Anthem pickup already on board, it’s just as at home on stage as it is in the living room.
Huss & Dalton have been building acoustic guitars by hand in Staunton, Virginia since 1995, when Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton joined forces. In a relatively short time they have earned a devoted following among players and collectors for instruments that pair traditional American flat-top voicing with meticulous, boutique-level craftsmanship. The CM sits right at the heart of that reputation: a touch smaller than a dreadnought, it trades some low-end boom for clarity, note separation and a responsive touch that rewards a lighter hand.
Built with scalloped X-bracing, a mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard, this CM wears its appointments tastefully: maple binding, an abalone rosette and an abalone inlay at the 12th fret. Tonally you get that classic Indian rosewood signature, deep, warm lows and sparkling, sustaining highs, with the spruce top adding headroom and clarity on top.
Clearly well cared for throughout its life, the guitar remains in excellent condition. The body does show some dings and playwear and the headstock has one little chip on the back. These are signs that this guitar has been a faithful companion on the road or in the studio. It’s time to bring this Huss & Dalton back in action!
This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
