José Romero Classical Cedar Indian Rosewood 2020

This 2020 José Romero is a beautiful handmade Spanish classical guitar by a builder who learned his craft in the renowned workshop of José Ramírez. At just fourteen years old, Romero started as an apprentice in José Ramírez’s workshop, where he developed his skills and eventually became a master builder. In 1983, he opened his own atelier, where he continues to build according to the traditional Madrid school of guitar making.

Romero works entirely on his own, which limits his production to only around twelve to fifteen guitars per year. Each instrument is built by hand with great care and attention to detail, and that craftsmanship can be both seen and heard.

For this guitar, Romero chose the proven combination of a cedar top with an East Indian rosewood body. Cedar provides a warm, direct tone with an immediate response, while rosewood adds rich overtones and beautiful sustain. The fan bracing beneath the top is the traditional Spanish construction method that gives these classical guitars their characteristic response and singing quality.

This example shows some superficial playing wear, including light scratches and small dents visible in various areas of the guitar. The signs of use are mainly found on the top. There are also some marks behind the bridge, around the area where the string ends are attached. Comes with a case and TFOA passport.
