Kauffmann 63 T Sugarcane HB Violin Burst Light Aged

This Kauffmann Sugarcane Herringbone stands out from the usual T style crowd with its Violin Burst finish and herringbone binding around the edge of the body, a detail you would normally expect on a fine acoustic guitar. Underneath that dressed up look sits a light paulownia body, a maple neck with an East Indian rosewood fingerboard and two Kauffmann single coils, so it still delivers the honest twang this design is known for.

Kauffmann Guitars builds its instruments in Alphen aan den Rijn in the Netherlands, with a simple motto: it's all about feel. With the Sugarcane Herringbone, Kauffmann takes the familiar T style shape and gives it a warmer, more decorative look. Every Kauffmann also goes through what the brand calls the Time Travel Treatment, an aging process that comes in different levels. This one received the Light treatment, which adds a subtle played in character without heavy wear.

Paulownia is a very light tonewood, which makes this guitar comfortable to play standing up for a long time and gives it a lively, resonant response. The rosewood fingerboard rounds off the attack slightly, adding a little warmth to the bright T style bite. The Kauffmann SOW T pickups take you from a cutting, twangy bridge sound to a smooth, round neck tone, and the 9.5" radius makes both chords and bends feel natural. The Gotoh In Tune bridge is designed for accurate intonation, so chords stay sweet further up the neck. It comes with its signed Kauffmann spec sheet.
