Lowden F35 Indian Rosewood Adirondack Spruce 2007

Lowden guitars are among the most distinctive and revered handmade acoustics in the world, built in County Down, Northern Ireland to a design philosophy all their own. This F35 from 2007 pairs the company's larger, richly resonant F body with two premium tonewoods, and it is a wonderful example of what makes a Lowden so special.

The body combines solid Indian rosewood back and sides with a solid Adirondack spruce top, braced with Lowden's signature dolphin bracing for that open, three-dimensional voice. The appointments are pure Lowden elegance: maple binding with mahogany, maple and rosewood purfling, a rosewood, mahogany, maple and abalone rosette, and a transparent pickguard.

Tonally, this F35 is everything a great Lowden should be. The Adirondack spruce top brings power, headroom and a lively response, while the Indian rosewood adds deep, complex lows and a shimmering top end. The larger F body and generous string spacing make it a superb fingerstyle instrument, with wonderful note separation, bloom and harmonic richness, yet it has more than enough projection for strumming too.

This 2007 Lowden is in excellent condition. It has picked up some light playwear over the years in the form of scratches and dings, mostly on the top. The satin neck has also begun to take on a light sheen from playing, which is entirely normal over time. It comes supplied in a hardshell case.
