The Martin 00L16E 1935 Burst puts a gloss spruce top in a warm 1935 Burst finish on a comfortable sloped shoulder 00 body with solid mahogany back and sides. Martin describes its voice as warm and intimate, and that is exactly how it feels: a smaller guitar that sits close to you, responds to a light touch and still has plenty to say. With L.R. Baggs Element electronics on board, it is just as ready for the stage as for the living room.
The 00L16E is part of Martin's 16 Series, and as the name of its finish suggests, its look draws its inspiration from the mid thirties. Antique white binding, a custom multi stripe rosette, a faux tortoise pickguard and mother of pearl Style 18 inlays based on the 1955 design give it a classic, understated look that suits the warm character of the guitar perfectly.
The smaller 00 body keeps the low end controlled, so the balanced midrange and clear treble come through beautifully, whether you are fingerpicking or strumming lightly. The scalloped X bracing lets the spruce top move freely, which adds resonance and sustain, while the mahogany back and sides bring warmth and a woody character. The slim, comfortable neck and the 24.9" scale with its slightly lower string tension make it easy to play for hours, and Martin's precise fretwork makes every position feel effortless. It comes with a Martin softshell case.
