The Music Man Silhouette Special is a versatile, high performance electric that has been a favourite of working players since its introduction. Finished in a striking Pearl Blue, this 2011 example combines classic double cut styling with the build quality and playability Music Man is famous for.

Designed by Ernie Ball Music Man, the Silhouette Special is built around an alder body and a select maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, delivering a snappy, resonant and lively voice. The comfortable C profile neck, 25.5 inch scale length and 10 inch fingerboard radius make it easy to play across the entire range, while Schaller M6-IND locking tuners and a Music Man vintage tremolo keep it stable and in tune even under heavy use.

Its real strength lies in its versatility. The H-S-S pickup configuration, with two single coils and a bridge humbucker, is wired to a volume, tone and 5-way switch, covering everything from glassy, chiming single coil tones to thick, powerful humbucker sounds. Whether you play blues, funk, pop, rock or something heavier, the Silhouette Special has a voice for it, making it an ideal do-it-all guitar for the stage and the studio alike.

This 2011 Music Man has clearly seen plenty of playing time. The hardware shows its age, with some spots of rust on the screws for example, and there are scratches and a few dents on the body, pickguard and neck. All of this only confirms that this is a genuinely resonant, well-played instrument that is sure to deliver on stage. It comes supplied in a hardshell case with a strap and a TFOA Passport.
