This 14-fret National Style O Replicon shows what an original resonator from the late 1930s would look like after a long musical life, but with the reliability of a modern instrument!

National's 14-Fret Style "O" achieved iconic status when Mark Knopfler started using a model from the late 1930s. It featured prominently on the cover of the 1985 Dire Straits album "Brothers in Arms." National's reproduction remains true to the vintage original and faithfully captures its essence.

The smaller, 14-fret body provides versatility and easy access for reaching higher notes. The sound of the Style "O" has a wide harmonic range, making it perfect for solo performances and creating rich, layered tones. This characteristic is often appreciated by musicians who want to experiment with different playing techniques and styles.

The instrument with a brass body is polished to a mirror finish, nickel-plated, and decorated with etched exotic Hawaiian palm tree scenes, and then receives a special hand-beaned finish. The maple neck features a traditional sunburst finish. An ivoroid-bound ebony fingerboard and vintage-style engraved tuning pegs complete the look of this enduring classic.

This 2025 National is equipped with a K&K Pure Resonator BB pickup so that it also sounds great when amplified. After National's Replicon treatment, it is hard to say where the relic ends and the signs of playwear begin, but we can say with certainty that we are dealing with a very neat guitar here!
