PRS Custom 24 Birds of a Feather LTD Charcoal Microburst

The PRS Custom 24 “Birds of a Feather” Limited Edition is a tribute to one of PRS’s most iconic guitar models. Only 360 examples of this version were built, each featuring the special PRS Birds of a Feather inlay, which was previously available exclusively through Private Stock. This striking design for the iconic PRS bird inlays was created ten years ago by Paul Miles, Director of Manufacturing and Head of Private Stock. Combined with the Custom 24, this versatile guitar takes on a distinct and unique character.

This limited edition offers the open, dynamic sound and effortless playability that have made the Custom 24 a modern classic. Additionally, the Birds of a Feather inlay gives the instrument a distinctive look, allowing it to shine on stage, in the studio, or in a collection. Paul Miles described the design as a way to create movement and space in the inlay work using different types of wood, resulting in a design that remains instantly recognizable as PRS from a distance.

The Custom 24 Birds of a Feather Limited Edition retains the familiar specifications of the model, including a figured maple top, mahogany back, 25-inch scale length, 24 frets, a PRS Gen III tremolo, and dynamic PRS DMO pickups. These pickups deliver a clear, balanced, and expressive tone, while the 5-way blade switch provides access to a wide range of humbucker and single-coil-like sounds. The mahogany Pattern Thin neck offers a fast and familiar playing experience, while the PRS Phase III locking tuners and the patented Gen III tremolo ensure excellent tuning stability and resonance.

This makes this Limited Edition more than just a limited edition: it is a characterful interpretation of the Custom 24 in which PRS’ attention to design and craftsmanship clearly shines through.
