The 2000 PRS Singlecut belongs to the early years of the model with which PRS gave its own interpretation to the classic single cutaway guitar. With its elegant carve, mahogany body, and striking Cherry finish, this guitar combines a warm, full base with the tight articulation and finish for which PRS is known. The result is an instrument that effortlessly handles both heavy rock and more refined parts, with a direct response and long sustain. When PRS introduced the Singlecut, the model was intended as a more traditionally oriented solidbody within the range, yet with the recognizable PRS build quality and playability. The combination of a mahogany body with a arched maple top provides a rich mid-range response and clear highs, while the glued mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard contribute to the long sustain and smooth feel. Characteristic of these early Singlecuts is their solid, resonant character and relatively direct attack, making them popular with players seeking classic single-cut tones with a more modern precision and finish. This Singlecut has accumulated various signs of wear and dings, including a chip from the corner of the headstock. The lacquer has also tarnished somewhat in places. This particular unit has also been heavily modified, resulting in a particularly versatile guitar. The original electronics have been replaced with a completely renewed configuration featuring two replacement pickups, a master volume, and a pickup blend control with a chickenhead knob that allows for seamless blending of the pickups.Additionally, both tone controls feature a push/pull function for coil split, making more open, single-coil-like sounds available alongside powerful humbucker tones. The original switch has been deactivated, but thanks to the blend control, a wide range of sonic possibilities remains immediately accessible. This PRS is therefore a true player, yet it will surprise you with its raw sound and versatility! This instrument has been carefully inspected for originality, condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.Consignment.
