Retrograde Harmony Rocket Retro Mod Lavender Rose Sparkle 2024

This "Retrograde Retro Mod" began its life as a Harmony Rocket, but thanks to the craftsmanship of luthier Glenn Nichols, it has been granted an entirely new musical life!

Nichols acquired the vintage Harmony Rocket in a dire state: it lacked a fretboard and pickups, the binding was crumbling, and the body’s finish had all but vanished. He began by addressing the neck; extending it to accommodate a new fretboard with a 25.5-inch scale length, and installing a truss rod. The back was finished in matte black, while the headstock was fitted with Waverly tuners and a rosewood overlay featuring a striking logo.

The body was then restored with new binding and a vibrant "Lavender Rose Sparkle" finish, making it shine like never before. The control knobs were positioned below the f-hole. In terms of tone, this Retrograde truly excels; the Curtis Novak "gold foil" pickups sound absolutely fantastic!

Glenn Nichols is an American luthier and the founder of Retrograde Guitars. Following his studies in fine art, he trained at the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery. He went on to spend nine years at the Santa Cruz Guitar Company, subsequently gaining further experience at Kenny Hill Guitar and Tippin Guitars. In 2016, Nichols struck out on his own to establish Retrograde Guitars, where he combines his artistic background with extensive technical expertise to create hand-built acoustic guitars defined by his own unique design vision. From his workshop in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, he continues to push the boundaries of traditional guitar making.

This guitar, therefore, comes with a wonderful story, a true meeting of history and master craftsmanship!

This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
