Santa Cruz OM Sitka Indian Rosewood 2017

Santa Cruz is a particularly beloved brand at The Fellowship of Acoustics, consistently building very high-quality guitars in limited editions with dedication in their artisan workshop and a passion for providing musicians with exceptional instruments.

In the 1920s, the Orchestra Model was originally intended as a large guitar that could be heard above other orchestral instruments, hence the OM name. Although this model did meet the requirements, the relatively large body was soon overshadowed by the mighty dreadnought. Santa Cruz was one of the first modern builders to successfully reintroduce this now smaller favorite in the early 1980s.

The sound of this fine OM leaves many guitars far behind. The rosewood is of very high quality and produces a full and rich sound that is complemented by a beautiful fine-grained Sitka spruce top, framed with a grained ivoroid binding and herringbone purfling. The clear resonance of the spruce top ensures a full and dynamic sound. Additionally, it offers very comfortable playability thanks to the soft V mahogany neck, which, like the body, is expertly finished with a grained ivoroid binding and small mother-of-pearl dot inlays for a sophisticated look.

This 2017 Santa Cruz has light signs of wear and a few small dings on both the top and back, along with light signs of wear in the form of glossy lacquer on the back of the neck. Furthermore, the guitar features a Fishman pickup, allowing it to sound great when amplified. Overall, however, the guitar is very clean and comes with a TFOA passport in an Ameritage case.
