Santa Cruz Otis Taylor 2008

The Otis Taylor Signature Model has been a staple of the SCGC collection for years. Otis Taylor is a multi-instrumentalist who has shared the stage with artists as diverse as Gary Moore, Buddy Guy, and Keb Mo. He is the foremost modern voice of trance blues.

Otis Taylor placed very specific demands on the sound and aesthetics of his signature instrument. This collaboration has resulted in a musical instrument that truly reflects the artistic qualities of both Otis Taylor and the Santa Cruz Guitar Company. The basis is the H13 model with a deep body; the neck meets the body at the 13th fret, with, remarkably enough, only one extra fret behind it!

The OT's compound radius ebony fingerboard ensures lightning-fast action, while the spruce top guarantees considerable power and clarity. Additionally, the Madagascar rosewood body not only provides visual splendor but also lends beautiful depth to the sound.

This 2008 Santa Cruz shows signs of wear and a few dings on the top and body, along with some irregularities in the finish along the bindings on the back. We also see two imperfections in the finish here due to the intense grain in the wood.

Additionally, the guitar has a re-glued corner of the bridge and a long repaired crack on the side of the body, on either side of the output jack. These repairs were carried out very professionally, ensuring the guitar is fully ready for its next adventure!
