This Builder's Edition 814ce is one of the limited-edition models featuring updated specifications from Taylor. Compared to the standard model, this anniversary edition boasts a Sinker Redwood top, a tonewood that imparts a warm sound with a responsiveness comparable to cedar. Beneath the top lies Taylor’s revolutionary V-Class bracing, which provides increased volume and sustain, allowing both chords and individual notes to ring out with greater power and richer harmonic overtones.

Like the standard Builder's Edition, this guitar incorporates several design elements that elevate playing comfort to an exceptional level. The top features rounded edges, while the armrest and cutaway include bevels, ensuring a remarkably pleasant playing experience. Furthermore, this anniversary model is equipped with features such as Gotoh 510 tuning machines, "Element" fretboard inlays, and a "Kona Edgeburst" finish on the back and sides.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2024, Taylor has released a series of limited-edition guitars. Based on the most popular models from the past few decades, these instruments share one common trait: in honor of the company's founding year, each model is limited to a production run of exactly 1,974 units.

This Taylor is nearly indistinguishable from a brand-new instrument, with only a minor blemish in the finish on the side of the heel cap.
