Roy Smeck was one of America’s first true guitar heroes and made his mark in the 1920s and 1930s with his virtuosic playing on various stringed instruments. Harmony, at the time one of Chicago’s largest guitar manufacturers, recognized his talent by offering him a signature model.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis model was produced only in 1930, making it an exceptionally rare find. It is very lightly built and also stands out because of its ‘Airplane’ rosewood bridge. This bridge, also called the \u003cem\u003eLindbergh bridge\u003c\/em\u003e, was shaped after the plane Charles Lindbergh used to cross the ocean.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAfter more than 90 years, this Roy Smeck remains in very good condition. It has been well cared for and maintained, making it very comfortable to play today. It has received a neck reset and a refret.
