Bourgeois Small Jumbo Custom Blacktop Adirondack Sinker Mahogany
This Small Jumbo is a truly beautiful Custom instrument by Dana Bourgeois. This 'Blacktop' has an oval sound hole with 'custom' rosette and rope purfling. The pickguard and fretboard decorations also make this an incredibly stylish and charming guitar.
The body consists of a Sinker mahogany body that has been given a beautiful red glow thanks to a 'Cordovan stain'. Sinker tonewoods have been submerged for a long time before they are processed. This gives this Small Jumbo a clear, full sound with a little extra warmth and sustain. This works great with the Adirondack top which provides volume and a great dynamic.
The mahogany neck has a 'soft V' profile and a slightly shorter scale length of 25 inches. This makes it very easy to play and it is suitable for fingerstyle as well as for strumming and vocal accompaniment. An absolute pleasure to play and to see. This is where Bourgeois' class comes to the fore and the result is a top instrument!
