DiMauro Special Jazz Chorus 1940s

This is one of those very rare DiMauro Special Chorus, and it's in good Condition, dates back to the 1940s or early 1950s. Tonally way beyound the average, and a truly sophisticated impressive sounding instrument with excellent playabillity, beautifully detailed, with bound body, multiple top purfling, 3 piece neck, inlaid fingerboard, one of the inlays is replaced. Not your typical DiMauro but more towards Busato in terms of construction, and that's how it sounds as well. It has the right Bark and superb Volume and sounds sophistiacted Gypsy jazz. A great sounding and playing example of one of those very rare diMauro's 'Special Chorus'. Features a chunky D neck, solid spruce top, Curly laminated Mahogany back/sides, 3 piece neck with walnut centerpiece, SB tuners and original tailpiece, The bridge might be original also, but i'm not sure here, Rosewood Fingerboard with diamond shaped inlays. the top is restored, a few cracks are repaired, and one is repaired with a split.

A really rare guitar and due it's rarity collectible. These guitars, and their builder certainly deserve great credit for their unique assets to Gypsy Jazz.. Among others Eric Clapton and Pat Metheny are proud owners of these rare guitars. Comes in a good quality newer case.
