Epiphone Blackstone Archtop 1946

Epiphone Blackstone Archtop from 1946. When Epiphone introduced their Masterbilt archtops in 1931, the Blackstone was offered in Grand Concert size. According to Epiphone at the time:

"This instrument is specially built for those who desire a fine quality of tone along with large volume, yet an easy action instrument of medium size. ... This model is in grand concert size (a size between the concert and the auditorium)."

The instrument features back and sides made of maple, a carved spruce top, sunburst finish, firm C-shaped maple neck, bound rosewood fretboard with pearl trapezoid position markers, compensated rosewood adjustable bridge, trapeze tailpiece and long tortoise pickguard (found in the case). As an added bonus the previous owner added a Shadow Attila Zoller floating pickup. Unfortunately we are selling this wonderful instrument "As is"; it has expected playwear and signs of use but someone did a very poor neck reset on it resulting in damage of both the fretboard, a crack in the body and an incorrect neck angle. The finish on the headstock also sufferd due to humidity. Tuners are newer Klusons, the originals come with the guitar. We hope the next owner can nurse this guitar back to health! Includes newer hardshell case
