Juan Orozco Model 15 Concert Classical German Spruce Jacaranda 1981

Juan Orozco is a luthier, like his father before him. It was from his father that he learned the art of constructing fine guitars in the Andalusian region of southern Spain, where the guitar is the king of instruments and guitar-making the highest and most serious of arts.

In 1965, with the experience and knowledge of generations of Spanish guitar makers behind him, Juan Orozco came to the United States. There he dovoted himself to providing fine guitars to the growing number of serious guitar afficionados in the country. His deep concern for the potential sound of the guitar also led him to develop Aranjuez strings which are used exclusively by many leading conert guitar soloist worldwide.

This top-of-the-line Model 15 concert classical guitar was built in 1981 in Japan. From 1969 onwards Juan often worked together with many great Japanese luthiers like Matsuoka, Tamura, and Yairi, who then developed guitars for Tama, Ibanez and Aria. They also built guitars in the Kohno-Sakurai style of which this is one.

It features a select German spruce top of the highest grade, richly patterned Jacaranda rosewood for the back and sides, aged mahogany neck with ebony fretboard and rosewood bridge. This instrument is perfect in every aspect and has a tremendous volume and presence. It is also in pristine condition for its age, officially "excellent", very close to near mint with only angelhair signs of use. Included is the original hardshell case with Juan Orozco folder and a printed letter from the man himself with some background information.
