Martin D28 Authentic 1941 Madagascar Adirondack 2014

Martin's D28 Authentic 1937 has been a hit amongst flattop enthousiast in the last couple of years. This is the cream of the crop among Martin's guitar line-up, with its Golden Era features and perfect fit and finish. But before Martin replicated its '37 model, the Nazareth-located stringed instrument maker made the 1941 Authentic, which sounds even better. 

Just like the 37, this Authentic 1941 features almost all of the features that you would expect on its vintage counterpart, with an Adirondack Spruce top, genuine mahogany neck with T-bar, and constructed with Hide-Glue, right down to the painstaking details as the neck barrel, heel, diamond, head taper, and slots. 

So, what is the difference between these two models? The 1941 Authentic features an Adirondack Standard X-brace in rear-shifted position and scalloped according to '41 specs, giving this instrument a complete different voice, with more mids compared to the '37, increased dynamics and improved balance accross the whole frequency spectrum.

This Martin D28 is in very good condition. A small thing under the bridge can be seen on the top, and light playwear can be seen on the pickguard. The binding on the back of the sound box has come loose from the body at a single point. The guitar is otherwise very clean and comes in a case.
