Martin D45 1997
The D-45 is one of Martin's most highly-appointed models using only premium tonewoods and stunning style 45 inlays. The first D-45 was built in the 1930s and it is still one of the most eyecatching and impressive models that Martin makes. The top features a high grade Sitka spruce top, combined with refined Indian rosewood back and sides with a uniform grain that gives this guitar its classic look. The top, back and sides are dressed in Style 45 abalone purflings and provides this dreadnought with a luxurious appearance.
This 1998 D-45 is in very good condition. There are some traces of use on the back and sides, which is to be expected from a 20-year-old instrument. The top is very clean with only one or two spots. The neck has some traces of use and had a touch up with the neck joint. This is visible, but it won't hinder you during playing this beautiful instrument.
Playability is great and the tone has the full range of Indian rosewood with broad lows, smooth mids and brilliant highs, blended with the focused and warmer response of Sitka spruce which lets just the right amount of overtones through.
