Michael Lewis D'angelico New Yorker 18" Deluxe Near Mint

Luthier Michael A. Lewis began offering handcrafted banjos and mandolins in 1981. He began making flattop and archtop guitars in 1993. In 1999, Lewis chose to focus exclusively on the carved top instruments. Up until 2011, Lewis also made authorized replicas of John D'Angelico's Excel and New Yorker Models.

This Blonde New Yorker Deluxe from 2000 was ordered straight from the NAMM 2000 show floor by a Dutch import firm together with two Excel Deluxe. Obviously this New Yorker is considered the most exclusive of the three with its fancy inlays and 18 Inch body. These New Yorker models came with a price tag op 15000us$It features X-bracing, solid carved maple back and sides, solid carved mastergrade spruce top, and the custom addition of a Bartolini hum canceling jazz pickup! 

The 18" wide body with cutaway, features multi-ply bindings on the body, pickguard, fretboard and headstock, pearl split-block fretboard inlays, maple neck with 44.5mm (1 3/4") nutwidth, 635mm (25") scale length, gold hardware, Grover Imperial tuners, pearl D'Angelico New Yorkers peghead inlay, New Yorker style aluminum trussrod cover and ebony bridge. This guitar has lots of volume, a rich sound, fantastic tonal clarity and perfect string to string balance, ideal for studio work and a joy to play. In almost perfect close to near mint condition with only a tiny few signs of use under / next to the pickguard. Included is the original hardshell case.
