Anno Galama SCLP Custom 1982

Definitely one of the most amazing guitars in our shop: Galama single-cut, 1980s, in amazing condition: This is not just another guitar but a genuine Anno Galama Single Cut, with the amazing tone and built quality, Anno Galama was known for. Mr. Galama is legendary among a small group of guitar players worldwide with followers in the US, Sweden, Norway, Germany and of course the Netherlands. Quite suddenly he stopped guitarmaking in the late 1980's for health reasons. But he's still alive and kicking and over the last few years this remarkable guitar-philospher and became close guitarfriends. With it we seem to become a sort of 'Galama Guitar centre'. Since Galama guitars are totally different from what I'm used, Anno keeps on explaining for what good reasons he used certain tropical woods, and his truly genius construction techniques. It is fair to state that Anno Galamo is a great inspiration. Some famous artist played Galama Guitars in the past but Anno doesn't like me to mention their names. For further reference, see also this Youtube tribute to Anno Galama Guitars by Morgan Pettersson, it will give you an idea how special Galama guitars are.

This is innovative boutique quality Single cut is still advanced and far ahead of his time. The main reason for Galama guitar being different is probably Anno's Immense knowledge of Tone-wood and their characteristics, and his Philosophical approach to guitar-making. (he is learned Philospher) According to Anno it is probably made in mid 1980. The body is made of Columbian Cedar (cedral montana) and the neck is one piece cedrela running through the body and is invisibly matched with the inside wings of the body. The top and back are matching Solid leaf cedar as well. Now don't think this kind of leaf cedar has anything to do with the usual Spanish cedar, the characteristics of this wood are close to brazilian rosewood in terms of tone transportation and sustain.

Carved by hand from seven blocks of wood added with some typical 80's details like the superhot and very rare 78 and 79 EMG pickups and the fully customised gold TP6 tailpiece, that is working very well on this guitar. Super sustain due to the thru body neck construction with the typical Single cut massive power and sustain. Other specs include a modest C profile 60's style C neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, black finish, weighing in at only 3.4kg (7.5LBS) making it one of the lightest ever single Cut (not weight releived) ever in our shop, medium frets, 628mm (24 3/4") Scale length, 42mm (1 10/16") nut width.
