Martin Custom Shop Townes van Zandt D-35

Very limited edition Martin Custom Shop Townes van Zandt D-35 Edition. Perfectly suited for all your heartwrenching cowboy songs in the tradition of one the best songwriters and artists of all time, Townes van Zandt, who has fortunately enjoyed some renewed interest thanks to the documentary "Heartworn Highways". Townes played his D-35 from 1971 to 1979 when it was stolen from him with him commenting ""I really liked that guitar". A sad story which was maybe inspiration for some of the songs he wrote. Back to this limited edition instrument; it features several unique features including Adirondack spruce for the top, Townes Van Zandt "cactus" artwork inlaid in pick guard, 60s style headstock with rounded corners, Grained ivoroid bindings and a Special label signed by Jeanene van Zandt. Soundwise this is a very impressive dreadnought, with a unique warmth and lovely balance you'd be hard pressed to find in any other D-35. Includes 400 Series hardshell Case.
